Kevin Melody

Kevin Melody, aged 61, passed away at home on March 25, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Quincy and a graduate of Quincy Vocational Technical School, Class of 1981.

Kevin was a kind, free spirit who marched to wherever his own drum took him. While we mourn his loss, we know he left this earth looking forward to being reunited with Julie. Kevin enjoyed fishing, and he loved animals. He took in many cats and dogs over the years, and he lovingly and selflessly nursed his favorite dog Styx through a years long illness and endless veterinary visits.

Kevin was the son of the late Mary M. and Thomas J. Melody (BPD), of Quincy. He was a devoted partner to the late Julia Johnson of Quincy, who predeceased him in 2023. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Thomas Melody of Weymouth and Robert “Bobby” Melody and Paul Melody, both of Quincy. He is survived by his brother John J. Melody and his sisters-in-law Mary E. Melody and Patricia Duke Melody, all of Quincy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Private burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. A celebration of his life will be held later this year.
