Kevin M. Hanley

Funeral: Kevin Hanley, Wednesday June 1, 12 Noon from St. Agatha Parish on Vimeo.

Kevin Michael Richard Hanley, 76 years of age, of Milton, MA, died May 25, 2022 at Milton Hospital, after a brief illness.  He was the son of the late Frank Hanley and Eileen Sheehan Hanley.  Kevin was one of God’s Special people.  He lived at the Wolcott Street Group Home in Milton and prior to that at the North Street Home in Weymouth.   He was a retiree from Stop and Shop in Wollaston, where he knew and talked to everyone.

The love of Kevin’s life was to serve Mass, which he did faithfully at Holy Cross Cathedral in Boston, Sacred Heart Church in North Quincy and Holy Trinity Church in Quincy.  Here again, Kevin knew and talked to everyone.

For more than twenty-five years, Kevin was a camper at Exceptional Citizens’ Week at Camp Fatima, Gilmanton, NH, where he was the most well-known camper.  Kevin held many “titles” at Camp, but his favorite one was the “Bishop of Fatima,” complete with all the regalia of the office.  He again knew and talked to everyone.

Kevin was a life-long fan of Boston sports, especially the Red Sox, the Celtics and Boston College football.

Kevin is survived by his brothers and sisters, Father John William Hanley, OMI, of Tewksbury, MA, Thomas Francis Hanley and his wife Ellen, and Mary Lucina Dixon and her husband Robert both of East Falmouth, MA, his loving nieces and nephew, Kathleen Hanley, Patricia Hanley Smith, Maryellen Hanley and Elizabeth Hanley-Grande, Kevin Dixon and Lindsay Dixon, and grand-nephews and nieces, Erin, Brendan, Zoe, Sean, Henry, Mariah, Aiden, Angus, Gavin and Vivienne.

Kevin had intellectual challenges, but they did not identify him nor keep him from living a full, productive life.  The world is richer for Kevin’s life: for the love he so willingly shared, and the love that his family and friends were privileged to share with him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 11 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Agatha’s Church, Milton at 12 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cardinal Cushing Centers, Attn: Memorial/Tribute Program, 405 Washington Street, Hanover, MA 02339 or to “Friends of Fatima”, EC Week at Camp Fatima, 32 Fatima Road, Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837.

For those who may be unable to join with Kevin’s family, the Mass will be streamed by St. Agatha Parish.
