Kevin F. Mcateer

McATEER, Kevin F. 60, of Quincy, died in Weymouth on Monday May 7, 2018.

Born in Boston, he was a son of the late John Joseph and Catherine (Brennan) McAteer.  Father of Catherine and Connor McAteer.  Brother of John Joseph McAteer Jr. and his partner Maribeth Fargnoli of Scituate, and Kathleen Hardy and her late husband John of Plymouth.  Loving long-time companion of Paula Sluhocki of Weymouth.  Uncle of Kelly, Michael, James, and Joseph McAteer. 

Kevin was a 1975 graduate of Don Bosco, and worked for many years for The Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Maintenance Supervisor at the State House.  An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he enjoyed traveling, and went across Europe by rail in his younger days. 

All services for Kevin are private.  Arrangements by McDonald – Keohane Funeral Home, EAST WEYMOUTH. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Kevin’s memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Research efforts of Dr. Brian Wolpin at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston MA 02115.
