Kevin F. Durgin

Durgin, Kevin F. of Quincy, died September 20, 2013.

Loving father of Amie M. Durgin and her husband, Matthew J. Smith, and Katherine E. Durgin all of Dorchester. Cherished son of  Barbara M. (Rogers) Durgin of Quincy and the late Alexander F. Durgin. Brother of Dennis Durgin of Litchfield, NH, Mark Durgin of Marshfield, Pamela Murphy of Marshfield, Janet Le of Pembroke, Daniel Durgin of Norwell, Christopher Durgin of Quincy, Shawn Durgin of Plympton, and Mary Kerins of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Kevin was an avid runner with the L Street running club, and never missed the Brownies polar bear plunge on New Years Day. He was a strong advocate of education, and recently received his masters degree from UMass Boston. Those who new him best may recall his plethora of useless information, and his contagious sense of humor. He enjoyed dining out, trying all new cuisines, experimenting in the kitchen. He loved all things Irish, from bag pipers to step dancers. Although he appreciated trying new things and being on the go, all he needed was a cup of dunkin’ donuts coffee and the morning paper to make him happy.  Most of all Kevin can be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
