Kenneth W. “Ken” Strong, a cherished family man known for his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his admirable work ethic, passed away surrounded by those he held dearest on May 25, 2024 at the age of 73. Ken’s life was marked by his role as the Director of Purchasing for a book manufacturer, where he was respected for his integrity and commitment to excellence. A proud lymphoma cancer survivor, Ken’s resilience and strength were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Ken’s passion for life was evident in his diverse interests and hobbies. He was a fisherman and golfer, finding peace and joy in the serenity of nature and the camaraderie of the game. Ken was also a master of puzzles, both crossword and jigsaw, which he tackled with the same patience and focus that he applied to every aspect of his life. Above all, Ken enjoyed many cherished moments with his extended family at BBQ’s and holiday parties.
Ken never missed a dance recital or competition for his daughters despite his extensive travels for work which was a testament to his deep commitment to family. One of his most treasured memories was a trip to Amsterdam with his beloved daughter, Val, where they explored the city’s rich culture and history. Any moment both near or far he was happiest to be with his girls, as he would constantly remind them they were the best thing in his life.
His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he was a constant presence in their lives, attending many dance, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, and basketball games all while celebrating their achievements with pride. His favorite holiday was Christmas due to his planning, generosity and specific ways in which he catered each gift to exactly what his grandchildren loved. He found so much joy in seeing them open their presents.
Described by those who loved him as loving, generous, and thoughtful, Ken’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless lives he touched. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and memories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Ken will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
