It is with profound sadness that we announce Kenneth Paul Lang, 74, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 30, 2025. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
A lifelong resident of Weymouth, he worked for the Weymouth D.P.W., Weymouth Public Schools and devoted 30 years at St. Coletta's Day School. It was there that he met his true calling as a teacher's assistant and gym instructor. He did the work of angels and enjoyed every day saying it was not work but an honor and a privilege to help his very special students. He was fortunate to accompany two classes to Disney World.
Ken retired at the age of 70 to assist his wife, Carol, in caring for their granddaughter, Katerynna. He delighted in participating in her online preschool classes in 2020 and 2021. He was instrumental in enhancing Katerynna's physical therapy, resulting in her learning to walk independently. He spent many days taking her swimming, sledding and for long walks at local parks and along Nantasket Beach. The loving bond between Grampa and granddaughter was beautiful.
He was the cherished father of Cynthia Elizabeth Jennie. He was very proud of all her accomplishments and always said she brought so much joy to his life.
Ken met Carol in 1970 at Nantasket and they wed one year later. During their over 53 years of marriage, they just simply enjoyed life together. There were many trips to her home state of Maine as the family enjoyed walks along the Marginal Way, Perkins Cove and viewing lighthouses. Ken also took great pleasure in maintaining his home, yard, pool and cars. Over the years, he delighted in the antics of all the family pets.
Being close to his grandparents, the late Jennie and Matthew N. Lang, Ken spent many happy childhood summer days at their home on Widgeon Pond, Plymouth.
Ken was admired, loved and embraced by all of his wife's family, the Tuttles and the Kanes.
Ken leaves behind his loving bride, Carol L.T. Lang, his cherished daughter, Cynthia E.J. Lang and her husband John and his beautiful and precious granddaughter, Katerynna Anastasia Carol, the true light of his life for the past eight years.
Our sincere gratitude for all who cared and for all who prayed.
