Kenneth “Ken” Johnson, Sr.

Kenneth F. Johnson Sr. of Quincy died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 2, 2018. He was 90 years old.

He is survived by his wife Mildred “Millie” of 63 years. Loving father to Diane Johnson of Marshfield, Cynthia “Cindy” Murray and her husband Mark of Hudson, NH, Kenneth Johnson Jr. and his wife Mary of Hull. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Kristen (Kennedy) Delcourt and her husband Eric, Thomas Kennedy and his wife Corey, Kaitlin (Murray) Kennedy and her husband Cody, Steven Murray, Kristofor Johnson and Kelly Johnson. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and best friend William Horner and his wife Pauline, and many nieces and nephews.  Ken was predeceased by his parents Albin R. and Ruth (Buckley) Johnson and by his brothers Albin, Donald, and Robert Johnson.

Ken proudly served in World War II with the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of the Delta Masonic Lodge of Braintree, where he served in many positions – including Master and Secretary. He was the former owner of the Standard Publishing Corporation of Boston, MA.  Ken was an avid reader, he loved watching sports and he loved to drive – especially in his Mini Cooper.  He loved to sail.  Ken enjoyed spending time with his adoring wife, family and friends in Squantum, MA.  He cherished the many friendships that he had made at Hancock Park during his daily visits to see Millie. Ken lived and loved life to the fullest and will be missed dearly by everyone.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy.
