Kenneth H. Dow

Dow, Kenneth H. of Hingham, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Beloved husband of 54 years to Barbara A. (Quinlan) Dow. Loving father of Stacy A. Dow of Hingham. Brother of the late Betty C. Dow. Kenneth was born in Quincy and spent many years in Weymouth before moving to Hingham in 1972. In 1949 Ken enlisted in the National Guard with the 1058 transportation company in Hingham and served his country for more than 31 years. He worked as a sales manger for Russelelectric in Hingham for 15 years and later stayed with the company as a consultant. Volunteering was very important to Ken, he was generous with his time and enjoyed swimming with the physically and mentally challenged . As an avid reader, Ken read to the first and second graders at South Elementary School in Hingham. He enjoyed following the stock market closely and could fix and build anything. He will be missed by all those who were fortunate to know him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Tuesday, April 6, from 4 – 8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 7, at 11 AM. Burial will be private. Donations in memory of Kenneth may be made to Children’s Hospital, Development Office, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
