Keith W. Labresh

Labresh, Keith William of Weymouth, died July 5, 2014.

Born in Michigan in 1932, he was raised in Wisconsin and was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.  He enlisted in the Navy in 1951 during the Korean War, and met his wife Marilyn while he was stationed at Westover Air force base in Massachusetts. Keith started with New England Telephone Company in 1954 as a lineman, worked for the company for over 30 years, and was a production manager when he retired from AT&T in 1986.  In 1967 a company transfer moved the family from Ludlow, MA to East Weymouth.  After his retirement from AT&T, Keith was business manager for Immaculate Conception parish in Weymouth for 12 years.

Keith was a devout Catholic who was involved in the community and in his parish throughout his life.  He was a leader as well as a contributor and gave generously of his time and energy to the organizations and causes he believed in. He founded the local cable TV program “Witnessing the Word”; was a member of Knights of Columbus; was a Boy Scout troop leader; vice president of the local chapter of the Telephone Company Pioneers; Immaculate Conception lector; member of Immaculate Conception Men’s Spirituality Group; founded the Pro-Life committee at Immaculate Conception; volunteered at the Weymouth Food Pantry; and participated informally in dozens of other church and community activities.

Keith will be remembered as a man of compassion as well as a man of action. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was outgoing, friendly, and sincerely interested in people.  He made friends everywhere.

He was the heart of his family. His family cherishes his memory and are grateful for all of the wonderful years spent with him.

Keith was predeceased by his first wife Marilyn (Brady) Labresh and is survived by his beloved wife Paula M. (Gilbert) Sindoni-Labresh of Weymouth. Loving father to Mark J. Labresh and his wife Patricia of Abington, Cathy L. Brooks and her husband Steve of Clarkston, MI, and Amy L. Labresh of Whitman. Devoted grandfather to Joseph, Timothy, Lisa, Scott, and Julia; and great-grandfather to Cavan and Cayleigh. Keith was predeceased by his brother Donald Labresh and is survived by his nephew Donald Labresh of Chicago.
