Keith Edward Thornley

Keith Edward Thornley passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kingston, MA on August 8, 2015, while planting a rose bush to surprise his wife.

Keith was born on August 29,1979 and grew up in Quincy, Plympton and Weymouth, MA. He graduated from Blue Hills Regional Technical School in 1998 as an electrical apprentice and became a licensed electrician in 2003. His capability with math and problem solving had been evident from the time he was a child.

Keith was known for his amiable personality and made friends easily. He was also very funny; being able to mimic voices, accents and imitate personalities. It is truly a gift to be able to make others laugh. His stories were often regarded as perhaps embellished, but entertaining nonetheless.

He was full of love, sweet and kind hearted. He would offer his time, talent and strength to fix your car, cut up that fallen tree, or anything else that was needed. It seemed he inherited the ability of his namesake, Grampy Edward Drinan, to fix anything.

Keith loved country music; cowboy boots were considered “dressing up”, compared to his usual construction boots, mostly he wore black for that tough guy persona but he was a lamb underneath it all. Keith was a Harley Davidson fan as well as a big Patriots Football fan and was a tail back football player at Blue Hills Regional Technical School. A very hard worker, he still enjoyed his down time watching television programs on the Discovery and History channels.

Keith loved the outdoors; camping, hunting, sledding and fresh water swimming. Working on cars was one of his many hobbies, and going to concerts and the movie theater. Most importantly, he enjoyed providing for and spending time with his family. His daughter Anna said she “liked it when daddy would lay down and hold her up over him with one hand pretending she was an airplane”. Anna also loved playing hide and seek with him.

Keith was a loving son, brother, husband and father, friend and neighbor. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Tracey Thornley, stepdaughter Kayla Haskins and daughter Anna Thornley.  Keith’s parent’s, Frederick A. Thornley III (Artie) and Cathleen Drinan. His father in law Bernard Deree and mother in law Janice Deree. His siblings, Frederick A. Thornley IV (Marty), Kate Nicholson, Renee Thornley, Eric Thornley and Joanna Thornley, brother in law Brian Deree, grandmother Alice Thornley and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the grandson of now deceased Frederick A. Thornley Jr., Edward and Barbara Drinan, all of Weymouth.

Many will miss Keith’s loving nature and handsome happy spirit.
