Kathryn M. Hughes

Kathryn M. (Sheehan) Hughes of Weymouth and Marco Island, FL,  age, 76, passed away on  June 25, 2015, from a long illness at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham.

Kay was born on March 28, 1939, in Quincy, MA. Prior to devoting her life to raising her four children, Kay was employed by the City of Quincy and worked several years in the city’s assessor office. Kay enjoyed spending her winters in Marco Island, Florida with her husband and many friends and her summers in Weymouth, enjoying time with her children and grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Denis and Mary Sheehan. Kay is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Paul G. Hughes; sons, Paul Hughes, Jr of Greenfield, MA and Richard Hughes (Donna) of Halifax, MA; daughter Amy Dooley, (Stephen) of Middleton, MA and son Stephen Hughes, (Melissa) of West Newbury, MA; 7 grandchildren, Samantha, Forest, Rachel, Bridget, Nolan, Sophia, Emma, and many loving nieces and nephews. Sister of the late John Sheehan and his wife, Geri of Weymouth.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Rowley Burial Ground in Rowley, MA.
