Kathleen T. Minukas

Minukas, Kathleen T. (Kelly) of Quincy, died Sunday, September 22, 2013. 

She was active in the North Quincy High School Football Boosters and was passionate about the school sports program.  She was inducted in the NQHS Football Hall of Fame for her volunteer efforts. A Blue Star Mother, she was honored to support her son Stephen while he served our country.  A Traffic Supervisor with the City of Quincy, she worked for 28 years, most recently in front of Quincy Catholic Academy, but for the past many years in front of Mason’s Shell Station at the corner of Hancock Street and Standish Avenue.  She took great pleasure in meeting many generations of families and crossed several who where the children of her original students.  Kathy took great pride in her loving role as “Mimi” to her two grandchildren, Neala and Stephen.  Anyone who knew her would describe her as a caring, loving, and devoted woman, who was the matriarch of her family.

Beloved wife of Joseph S. Minukas of Quincy.  Loving mother of Stephen Minukas, QPD, of Quincy and Stacie Minukas-Garrels and her husband Scott of Stoughton. “Mimi” to Neala and Stephen “Buddy” Garrels.  Also survived by her many cousins from the Sherman, Keaveny, Carr, Ahern and Liddell Families. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
