Kathleen S. “Kathy” Gannon

Kathleen Sarah Theresa Gannon  4/18/1978 – 6/1/2022

Kathleen Sarah Theresa Gannon blazed her way to earth along with her twin sister Vanessa on April 18, 1978.   Throughout her life Kathleen was a force to be reckoned with.  Despite her blindness and developmental disabilities she left her mark (if you know, you know) on all who came in contact with her.  Kathy enjoyed loud upbeat music, shake toys, balls, bells, pudding and milk.  She disliked invasion of her personal space, transitions and unfamiliar places and people.  Kathy was LOUDER, STRONGER and FASTER then you would think possible.

Kathy was happiest in her home surrounded by the people who loved and cared for her.  Her great nieces/nephews(and the rest of us) found pleasure in singing to her familiar songs and  phrases, and waiting for her to say the last word.  “We all fall……”   or  “ I love …..”.

Kathy loved her routine of getting up early and getting ready for her day program(with Trish).  Riding in the cab with her favorite driver and aid. Visiting with all of the dedicated staff and clients at Vinfen in Weymouth and returning  home to her family and her physical therapist (Mary).  She left the hospital Tuesday evening and did all of the above on Wednesday before having another sudden decline and passed away at home early Thursday afternoon surrounded by her family.

Kathy came into our lives when she was adopted at 5 years old, left footprints on our hearts, and enriched our family. We are all better people because we had the privilege to know, love and care for Kathleen Gannon.

Kathleen was the beloved daughter of the late Matthew C. and the late Miriam D. Gannon of Braintree. She is survived by her twin sister Vanessa (Rich) Trabulise of Whitman. Also survived by her beloved family members who lived at home with her, Maryanne, John, Caitlin and Alexis Zeller. Peter, Joey, Andrew, and Anna Gannon.
