Kathleen O’Malley, of Quincy and formerly of South Boston, died peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2020 in Largo, Florida. She was 55.
Born in Boston on May 1, 1965, she was the daughter of the late James O’Malley and Joyce (Vadala) Roberts. Kathleen is also survived by her stepfather James Roberts of Braintree her mother’s husband.
Kathleen was raised and educated in South Boston. She graduated from Boston High School with the Class of 1982 and continued her education to become a licensed esthetician. Kathleen enjoyed her work and the relationships she built throughout the years.
In her spare time, Kathleen’s favorite things to do were spending time at the beach and shopping. She loved laying in the sun and feeling the sand between her toes while also finding a good bargain at local thrift stores. Kathleen also was very creative and had and eye for decorating. She enjoyed decorating the house, applying cosmetics and styling hair.
The most important part of Kathleen’s life was the time she spent with her children and family. She was a loving person with a big heart. Kathleen was strong, resilient, thoughtful and kind. Her life lessons and example are part of her legacy that continue through her children and family. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.
Kathleen was the devoted mother of Kristyn Danieli of Maine and Ashley Scimemi of Somerville. She was the dear sister of Donna O’Malley of Falmouth, the late Kim O’Malley and the late Michael O’Malley. Kathleen is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, August 10, 2020 from 4 through 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
Her Funeral Service will be celebrated privately.
Interment will be held privately in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kathleen may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
