Kathleen (Moran) McLeod

Kathleen (Moran) McLeod, 70, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 48 years of Gary McLeod, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on June 17, 2024. Born in Hartford on March 17, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Norma Moran. Kathy graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1972 and met Gary shortly after, working upstairs from his mother’s shop. Also from Wethersfield, Gary and Kathy started dating and married a few years later on Valentine’s Day, 1976.

She had a lifelong career with Cigna, starting while putting herself through graduate school during the evenings, retiring as a top executive. The consummate host, she was always throwing a dinner party or book club gathering with friends and family, surrounded by the myriad of antiques she loved collecting. She enjoyed spending time with her family, staying fit, working in her gardens, and cuddling with her dachshunds.

Kathy became a grandmother in 2015, perhaps her favorite job yet, commuting to MA to spend time each week with her granddaughter, Regan, who was the light of her life. A loving wife and mother, Kathy will be forever missed by her husband and children: daughter Lindsay Kelly and her husband Mike of Hingham, MA, and Courtney McLeod and her husband Nathan Brahms of Berkeley CA. Kathy was “Mimi” to 5 grandchildren; Regan, Duke, and Lyla Kelly, and Ada and Arden Brahms. She is also survived by her sister, Liz Moran, brother, Arthur Moran, and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her sisters, beloved Bridget Ramette and Patricia Moran.

Lindsay would like to thank the nurses from Caring Hospice and the staff at Bridges by EPOCH, Pembroke, for the loving care and support they provided her and her mother during the last years of Kathy’s illness.

A funeral will be celebrated on June 28, 11 am at Wethersfield United Methodist Church, 150 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
