Kathleen “Kay” (Fahey) Cocce, 86, of Weymouth, MA, raised in the Irish neighborhood, “Whiskey Point,” in Brookline, MA. Predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty years Louis M. Cocce. Daughter of Thomas Fahey of Ireland and Engelina “Lena” Van Dillen, born in Germany, of Dutch descent.
She graduated from Brookline High School where she was president of the Glee Club, then attended Boston University where she met Lou, the love of her life. Kathleen was a devoted and loving wife, and mother to four children, Louis, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Hanover, Charles and his wife Paula of Hanover, John and his wife Linda of Wayland, and Catherine and Michael Wright of Gilmanton, Iron Works, NH. “Nana” loved spending time with her family, especially her nine grandchildren, Charles, Jr., Daniel, Michael, Louis III, Christine, Stephen, John, Jr., Jacqueline and Dylan. Dear sister of the late Eileen and Arthur Walsh and James and Jean Fahey. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Kay enjoyed childhood summers at the beach in Green Harbor as well as winter ski excursions to NH. She also took pleasure in cooking, reading, music, dancing and writing. In 1983 Lou and Kay established a successful family business in the temporary staffing industry.
Kay’s greatest love was her family. She enjoyed watching her children as they grew up in Weymouth, and cheered them on in their many sports and activities.
Kay reminisced often of the family camping trips to Sebago Lake and summer vacations in Eastham on Cape Cod. In 2004 Kay and Lou took the entire family, along with grandchildren, to Bermuda to celebrate their 50th anniversary – a trip Kay cherished forever.
Kay loved to host family gatherings, especially the Christmas Eve Italian Feast. She touched many lives with her warm smile and friendly disposition. Her greatest joy in life was making special loving memories with her family throughout the years.
