Hannon, Kathleen Ann (Roper) age 63, unexpectedly on January 24, 2007 of Quincy, MA and Hollywood, FL formerly of Duxbury, MA. She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years John Joseph Hannon. Loving mother of Jennifer Wright (Hannon) Turcotte and her husband Michael of Lakeville and her 2 sons John Roper and Joseph Edward both of Quincy. She was the favorite Nana to Nicholas Turcotte and her granddogs Spencer, Ozzy and Izzy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Kathleen was the first woman to win an academic scholarship to the Academy of the Holy Cross (Class of 1961) she obtained her nursing degree from New England Baptist School of Nursing (Class of 1963) She loved the ocean and waterskiing which was where she met her husband 39 years ago in Marshfield. Prior to raising her children full-time, she was a real estate agent and had a nursing career that spanned 23 years working at Cardinal Cushing in Brockton and New England Baptist Hospital. She and her family are active members at the Old Colony Yacht (OCYC) in Dorchester. Kathleen lived passionately and loved deeply those who were lucky enough to know her. A great conversationalist, she always had a spark in her eye and spring in her step, and she made you feel comfortable talking about anything. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 2- 4 & 7- 9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Hannon may be made to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
