Katherine L. Burke

Katherine L. (O’Brien) Burke of Weymouth, died peacefully December 4, 2014.

She was the wife of 62 years to the late Edward L. Burke. Loving mother of Linda Corey and her husband Tom of Quincy, Edward Burke and his wife Kate of Marshfield, and Katherine O’Connor and her husband Patrick of Weymouth. Cherished grandmother of Katelyn & Patrick O’Connor and James & Maggie Burke. Sister of the late Bill O’Brien, Helen Ross, Joe O’Brien, Bernie O’Brien, Rita Vaughan, and Jackie O’Brien. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Katherine worked as a nursing assistant in the Special Care Nursery at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Dorchester for 20 years. After retirement she volunteered at St. Jerome CCD. She was also a long time daily communicant at St. Jerome Church.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 PM.
