Karen L. Shore

Karen L. (Jenney) Shore, 69, of Hingham, passed away on Saturday, December 17 after a hard-fought 15 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in Quincy, MA on December 3, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Clara Jenney. Karen was raised in Quincy and graduated from North Quincy High School, where she met her future husband, Stephen. She moved to Hingham in 1982 where she built a home and raised her four children.

Karen found joy in the simple things in life, mainly spending time with family and friends. She especially loved boating and taking vacations to Martha’s Vineyard, Florida, the Caribbean and beyond. But most of all, she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. Karen will be remembered as a kind and selfless person and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, she is survived by three sons, Stephen Shore and his wife Janae of Estero, FL, Jeffrey Shore and his wife Jacqueline of Huntington Beach, CA and Nicholas Shore and his wife Erin of Lakeway, TX; one daughter, Amanda Magner and her husband Kevin of Hingham; cherished sister of the late James Jenney and Janice Blanchard; devoted Nana of Regina, Julian, JJ, Jianna, Bodie, Brinn, and Charlie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham. A funeral home service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Karen may be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
