Judith A. McNamara

Judith A. McNamara, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at the age of 80 in Weymouth. Judith grew up in the close-knit community of Dorchester, where she formed lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply. As a single mother, she raised her two beloved sons, Brian D. McNamara (fiancée Meaghan Kerins) of Norwell and Matthew McNamara (wife Sharon McNamara) of Portsmouth, RI, in Braintree.

Her professional life was marked by a successful 30-year career with Blue Cross Blue Shield MA, where she was not only a committed employee but also a friend to many. Judith's work ethic and her ability to connect with others left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Judith was a source of endless love and joy for her grandchildren, Caitlin, Cameron, Casey, Marguerite, and Bridgit McNamara.

She is survived by her loving family, including her half-brothers Bob and Paul Aiello, and sister-in-law Gail Aiello. Judith's memory will also be cherished by her many nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, Edith Standish Aiello and Augustine Aiello, and her brother Lawrence Aiello.

Judith's social circle was vast and varied, encompassing friends from as far back as kindergarten. She considered this extensive network of friends to be an extension of her family, a testament to her ability to maintain lifelong connections and her open-hearted nature.

An avid sports fan, Judith's enthusiasm for the Patriots and Celtics was shared with her sons. She celebrated their victories with passion and remained hopeful through their defeats as a dedicated fan.

One of Judith's greatest joys was spending summers at York Beach in Maine, a beloved tradition that spanned many years of her life. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace, relaxation, and happiness. Her love for the ocean and the memories created there will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral mass on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11AM in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree.
