Judith M. (Conti) Kelcourse of Weymouth, MA at the age of 73, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family on August 25, 2018 at South Shore Hospital.
Daughter of the late Bruno and Lydia (Dennis) Conti, Judy was the beloved wife of 53 years to Edward J. Kelcourse. Loving mother of Denise Sullivan and her companion Ken Baumeister, Daniel and his companion Lynn Miller and Matthew and his wife Tracy, all of Weymouth. Cherished Nanny to six grandchildren, Courtney, Taylor and his wife Janelle, Eddie, Emily, Steven and Joey as well as two great granddaughters, Lilyanna and Jocelynn and their dad Joshua Coveney. Also survived by her two brothers, Joseph and John Conti, both of Quincy as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Sister in law of Helen Mohan, Nancy Pilalas, Russell Kelcourse, Lawrence Kelcourse and Robert Kelcourse. Dear friend of Helen Wiesmeyer, Jeannie Vanasse, Henry and Connie Thornton.
Judy was born and raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1963 and Quincy Beauty Academy. She worked many years at South Shore Cooperative Bank. She settled in Weymouth with her husband in 1965 where they raised their family. She was the true definition of a matriarch, always taking care of those she loved. If you needed her, she was there. She was the gracious hostess of so many family dinners and backyard cookouts (too many to count). Above all she loved spending time with her family and friends and working in her spectacular flower gardens. She was a fantastic baker and cook as all her family and friends can attest to, especially her famous banana bread that all her grandchildren are sure to miss. One of her favorite hobbies was knitting baby afghan blankets, which was in the hundreds. She always had one ready to go for anyone welcoming a new baby. And of course there were her Christmas stockings she knitted for all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, personalized with their names. She was also a devoted Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Words alone cannot describe the hole left in our hearts and she will be sadly missed by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
