Joyce A. Brancaccio

Joyce A. (Coughlin) Brancaccio of Braintree passed away surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 76.

She was born on September 8, 1945.  She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Grace (Kenneally) Coughlin.  Joyce was a lifelong resident of East Braintree, where she raised her children in the same house that she grew up in.  Joyce graduated from Braintree High School in 1963.  She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale Brancaccio who passed away in 1999.  She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Coughlin of Pembroke and Kathleen Merrill of Rockland.

Joyce will be remembered for her shy, yet personable and fun nature.  She loved to be a part of her children and grandchildren’s daily lives and was so happy when her great grandchildren came along.  Joyce was the matriarch of her family and adored being a mother and a Nana, she enjoyed every minute of her children and grandchildren lives and held a close special relationship with each of them.  Joyce spent most of her life working as a cashier, while making friends with both her co-workers and customers at Bradlees in Hingham, Hayward Market & Deli and later Hilltop Marketplace in Weymouth.

Joyce is survived by her 5 children, her daughter and caregiver, Alicia Brancaccio of Braintree, her son, Richard Coughlin and his wife Heidi of Braintree, her daughters, Mary (Coughlin) LaPlume and her husband Ron of Braintree, Jill Brancaccio and her partner Edward Cunningham of Taunton and Tricia Jenkins and her husband Peter of Braintree.  She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Ronnie LaPlume of Carver, Jessica (Coughlin) Haven of Burlington, Marissa (LaPlume) DeLuca of Bridgewater, Alyssa Brancaccio of Taunton, Richard Coughlin Jr of Middleboro, Anna Coughlin of Braintree and Meaghan Cunningham of Taunton and her great grandchildren.  In addition to her children and grandchildren, Joyce is also survived by her sister Grace Newcomb and her husband Reggie of Rockland and many nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by her furry four-legged sidekick Noelle.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street, N. Weymouth.  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.  Joyce will then be laid in eternal rest beside her beloved husband at the Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
