Vejvoda, Josephine M. (Sheehan) of Quincy, April 16, 2008. Beloved wife of the late James M. Vejvoda. Devoted mother of Barbara Anne Vejvoda of Quincy, Kathleen Marie Vejvoda Chaplin and her husband Gregory Chaplin of Hingham and James Sheehan Vejvoda of Los Angeles, CA. Daughter of the late Thomas J. Sheehan and Mary J. (O’Sullivan) Sheehan. Cherished sister of Margaret McCarthy of Randolph, Antoinette Violandi of South Weymouth and Catherine Hagan of Oxford, CT. Josephine is also survived by her in laws and several cousins in Ireland and many devoted nieces and nephews. Josephine was born in Tahilla, County Kerry, Ireland. She left Ireland in 1960 and lived abroad in London and Paris, before settling in Boston in 1963. She attended Hammersmith College in London and Boston University School of Art. Josephine worked at State Street Bank in Quincy as an international wire transfer agent, retiring back in 2005 after 20 years. She had a flair for language and loved poetry. She enjoyed interior decorating, sewing, painting and working with her hands. She loved her dog Bella and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed traveling back to Ireland. Josephine will be remembered for her strong, independent and creative spirit. Her selfless acts made her a wonderful role model for her children. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her contrarian wit and deep devotion to her family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. QUINCY, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1000 Sea Street, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2- 6 PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Mrs. Vejvoda may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Baystate Dr., PO Box 859060 Braintree, MA 02185.
