Ribaudo, Josephine M. (Basci) of Hingham, June 24, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Isidoro Ribaudo. Loving mother of Joseph A. Ribaudo and his wife Patricia A. of Hingham and the late Lucia Smith & Vinnie Ribaudo. Sister of the late Helene Neff. Cherished Nana of John J. of CA, William J. of Wellesley, Joseph M. of Needham, Michael P. of N. Andover, Richard Smith of WI, David Smith of CT and Maria Novick of Israel. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham, Thursday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 PM. Entombment will take place Friday at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in New London, CT. Josephine M. Ribaudo died peacefully at Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center on June 24, 2007. She was born 99 years ago in New London, CT, the daughter of Antonio and Mary Basci. She married Isidoro Ribaudo and they had three children, Vinnie, Lucia, and Joseph. Josephine worked side by side with her husband running a local retail and grocery store on Ocean Avenue in New London. In her later years she took painting lessons and became an accomplished artist displaying her art work at local clubs. She also taught many of her women friends in a class at her home in Hingham, where she moved 33 years ago after her husband passed away. Josephine was also an excellent cook and everyone loved Nana’s famous eggplant, capanata and pasta. She enjoyed spending her summers at her cottage in Groton, CT and fed everyone there, including the animals and birds. Josephine was a member of the Hingham Women’s Club and the Hingham Senior Citizens Club.
