Joseph Zygmunt

Zygmunt, Joseph of Weymouth, died January 1, 2017 at the age of 78.

Joe joined the Marines at age fifteen and went on to serve three years. After various jobs he retired as an institutional maintenance foreman for the Quincy Mental Health Center and later went on to transport special needs students for the Hingham school system. Joe was an Honorary Life Member of the Weymouth Lodge of Elks where he enjoyed playing cards with his friends. 

He was the loving father of Heidi Poole of Weymouth, the late Joseph Zygmunt, Jr. and his wife Thao Do Vien and the late Mark M. Zygmunt. Loving grandfather to his beloved granddaughters Kelsey Lee Debello and Danielle Margaret “Maggie” Poole. Former husband of Virginia (Daniels) Zygmunt. Son of the late Michael and Mary Zygmunt. Brother of Angeline Zmuda and husband Fred of Buffalo, NY, Michael Zygmunt of Kanas City, MO, and the late Henry Zygmunt, Stanley Zygmunt, and Genevieve Hinca. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth at a later date.
