Joseph T. Hoover

Joseph T. Hoover of Weymouth, died April 30, 2022 at the age of 88.

Joseph served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957. He worked as a Firefighter for the Town of Weymouth, retiring in 1996. He was a hard worker and a skilled carpenter, cabinet maker, tree cutter and gardener.

Beloved husband of 63 years to Mary Lou (Weakland) Hoover. Loving father of Sandy Olson and her husband John of Hanson; John Hoover and his wife Janet of Plymouth; Janice McKim and her husband Tom of Rockland; Joseph Hoover and his wife Jill of Norwell; and the late Elaine Grant and her husband Gary of Randolph. Brother of the late Betty Smith, the late Bob Hoover, the late Regina MacDonald, the late Bill Hoover, and the late James Hoover. Proud “Papa” to  8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Friday 5/6/22 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street) followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
