Joseph S. Walker, A.I.A, 91, resident of Weymouth for over 55 years, passed away unexpectedly, June 17, 2016. 

Son of the late Joseph and Stefana (Verona) Woitkiewicz. Beloved husband of 50 years of the late Patricia R. (Meehan) Walker.  Loving father of Deborah Roaen of Weymouth, John Walker and his wife Diane of Weymouth, Daniel Walker and his wife Jody of Norwell and Donna O’Sullivan and her husband Richard in Hingham. Cherished grandfather of Leah Preston and her husband Mark of FL, Cara Roaen of Weymouth, Taylor Walker of Norwell, Christie Walker of Weymouth, Noah Walker of Norwell, Melanie Walker of Weymouth and Shelby O’Sullivan of Hingham.  Great-grandfather of Bentin Preston.  Dear brother of the late Jennie Woitkiewicz.  Joe will be sadly missed by his “Best Buddy” of 15 years “Brodie”, who was a special gift from his beloved Pat.

Joseph proudly served his country during WWII as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps.  After his military service, he continued his education graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado.  Joe met the love of his life, Pat, working as the Architectural Officer for Chas.T. Main, Inc. and retired after 40 years of service. Joe was a proud founder along side his close friend, Jim Shields, of Architects II. He was an avid sailor who was a member of the South Shore Yacht Club. He enjoyed spending his winters with his family and friends in Naples, FL. His greatest pride and joy was making cherished loving memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at  11 AM Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 12 NOON. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to Pan Mass Challenge, 77 Fourth Ave., Needham, MA 02494 or to sponsor a rider at www2.pmc.org.
