Joseph R. Oliver

Oliver, Joseph R. of Weymouth, passed away July 16, 2016.

Joe proudly served in the U.S Navy during WWII. He had a 44 year career with Boston Edison. Joe enjoyed walking, the beach, snow skiing and traveling. Joe was a terrific singer and was often asked to perform at weddings and other events. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer at South Shore Hospital. After retirement, Mr. Oliver also drove cancer patients with the Assisting Angels program. He also found great joy in playing an active role in the lives of his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of the late Helen (O’Malley) Oliver. Devoted father of Joseph Oliver and his wife Shari of ID, John Oliver of NV, David Oliver and his wife Annette of Weymouth and the late Thomas Oliver. Cherished Grampy of Thomas, Matthew, Shelby and great-grandson Greyson. Loving brother of the late Dave, George, John, Mary, Ruth and Anna. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Thursday at 10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Funeral service will follow in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
