Joseph R. Puliafico

Joseph R. Puliafico, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 6, 2025, at the age of 85

Joe was the beloved husband of Ginger Puliafico for 59 years. He was a proud father to Terri Keefe and her husband Ron, Joe Puliafico and his wife Lynette, and Ed Puliafico and his wife Erin. He was a doting "Papa" to eight grandchildren: Sydney Keefe, Lindsay Keefe, Valerie Puliafico, Michaela Keefe, Elise Puliafico, Ryan Puliafico, Aidan Puliafico, and Emma Puliafico. He was also the loving brother of John Puliafico and his wife Maria, and Paul Puliafico and his wife Nancie and predeceased by his parents Anthony and Frances Puliafico.

Born in Everett, Joe moved to Braintree to raise his family, where he worked for the MBTA for over two decades as a mechanic and project manager. His skill and reliability were only surpassed by his unwavering character. Joe’s strong work ethic mirrored his deep commitment to his wife, Ginger, with whom he shared a remarkable 59 years of marriage—a true testament to their enduring love and partnership.

One of Joe’s most cherished memories was the Florida trip in 1982, a family adventure that took him, his wife, their three children, and their loyal dog down the East Coast. This trip epitomized his love for travel, a passion he later shared with Ginger as they explored Europe, visiting London, Paris, Finland, Norway, and beyond. For Joe, the journey was always as meaningful as the destination.

Joe proudly served in the National Guard for 32 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His service to his country was a source of immense pride and a reflection of his dedication and sense of duty.

At home, Joe found joy in restoring old cars, a hobby that showcased his mechanical genius. His cottage in Maine was his sanctuary—a place for relaxation and family gatherings, where they enjoyed watching old movies and TV shows. Joe treasured spending time with good friends, sharing a round of golf, and especially loved dining at his favorite local restaurants.

Joe's love for his grandchildren was boundless, and he was as devoted to them as he was to everything he did. Joe never missed an opportunity to cheer on his grandchildren at various activities such as school plays, recitals, sporting events and more. His gentle, kind, and loving nature was the heart of his life, and everyone who knew him was touched by his warmth and generosity.

Joe’s life was defined by dedication, love, and kindness. While he will be deeply missed, his stories, laughter, and the love he so freely gave will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate enough to know him.
