Joseph P. Young

Joseph P. Young of East Weymouth, Massachusetts passed away on December 23, 2021 after a short illness, at age 70.  Son of J. Eugene and Ann Young, deceased, of Weymouth, Massachusetts. He is predeceased by his wife, Ann (Shields) Young and is survived by his daughter, Sarah Young of East Weymouth, Massachusetts.  Joseph also leaves his long- time friend, Marie Deluca.

Joseph grew up in East Weymouth, Massachusetts and is a graduate of Weymouth High School.  Shortly after graduation from high school, he joined the IEUC (International Union of Elevator Contractors) and was a proud member for nearly 40 years prior to his retirement in 2011. During his elevator repair career, he worked for Consolidated Elevator and Kone Elevator.

Joseph enjoyed life to the fullest, and particularly, enjoyed being the fourth generation living in the family home built by his great grandfather.  He was a proud member of the Minuteman Dart League of Weymouth and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He will long be remembered for his quiet demeanor, sensitive nature, grand sense of humor, and abiding love of the New England Patriots (so long as they win), and as a loyal and loving friend to many and father to Sarah.
