Joseph P. Keenan

Keenan, Joseph P. of Vero Beach, FL and Quincy, MA died on June 1, 2011. He was 87. The beloved husband of the late Mary E. (McDonald) Keenan. Father of Patricia Fitzpatrick of Hinsdale, IL. John Keenan, Ret. QPD of Hanover and James Keenan of Franklin. Joseph is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Mr. Keenan worked as a custodian for 26 years in the Quincy Public Schools retiring back in 1979. He was a proud W.W. II Army Veteran – China, India & Burma Campaign, Former member of the Morrisette American Legion Post #294, as well as the Bryant VFW Post #613, Vero Beach Elks Lodge # 1774 and past member of the Moose Lodge post #1822. Joseph also retired from the National Guard. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who cherished his family and will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Interment will be private in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzhemer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
