Joseph P. Greene

Joseph Patrick Greene, age 88, of Chatham died suddenly with his wife by his side. 

The son of Catherine and Patrick Greene of South Boston, formerly of Ireland. Beloved husband of 66 years to Rosemary Greene and loving father of daughter Rosemarie Currier of Belmont, son Paul and wife Margaret of Hingham, and son Robert and wife Karen of Norfolk. Loving Grandpa to Heather, Blair, and Sydney, Sean and Jeffrey, Colin, David, and Elisabeth. Great Grandpa to the late Willa. Survived by his sister Marie Keegan of Braintree and predeceased by his brothers Vincent, Paul, Jack, and Robert.

He was a graduate of Northeastern University and had a long, successful career at Gillette. He loved Irish music and history, travel, and boating. He was a veteran of WWII. He will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 PM.
