Atkinson, Joseph P., Jr. of Quincy passed away on December 15, 2006. The beloved husband of 49 years to Jean (Cotter) Atkinson. Father of Andrea Fountain and her husband Scott of Quincy. June M. Atkinson and Alan J. Atkinson both of Quincy, Jean Hawes and her husband Mark of Weymouth. Brother of Elizabeth Hayes of Crystal River, FL. Friend of William Klessens of Salem, NH. Joseph is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a prayer service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 333 Hancock St., N. QUINCY, Wednesday at 12:30pm. Visiting hours Tuesday 7-9 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Mr. Atkinson was a lifelong resident of Quincy. He has been married to Jean (Cotter) Atkinson for 49 years. Joseph was a foreman for the Jervis B. Webb Co. in Cohasset for 43 years retiring back in 1988. Joseph was a railroad enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, animals and all aspects of nature. He was an avid reader especially books about nature. He enjoyed reading the Smithsonian and National Geographic magazines. Joseph graduated from North Quincy High School and also Massachusetts Radio School. Donations in memory of Mr. Atkinson may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
