Joseph Lapointe

LaPointe, Joseph  “Joe” of Mashpee, died August 17, 2015. 

Joe was a United States Merchant Marine Cook for over 11 years, during this time he traveled the globe three complete times.  After Joe returned home he became a Quincy Firefighter who spent his career in various fire houses throughout Quincy.  He retired from the West Quincy fire house after almost 30 years of service.  Joe had a skill for carpentry and hand built his summer house on Cape Cod.  During the winter months, Joe would be found in his home in Naples, Florida.  Being an outdoors man, Joe enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and had an overall love for nature.  He also enjoyed cooking, especially delicious meals for his family and friends.  Joe will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Pre deceased by his beloved wife Josephine.  Loving father of Sandra Greenberg, Collette Moorehouse and George LaPointe.  Caring brother of Yvette Gorneault, Lawrence LaPointe, Norman LaPointe and the late Bertrand LaPointe, Mionette Purpora, Marcel LaPointe and Rene LaPointe.  Also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
