Bernasconi, Joseph L. of Quincy and Dorchester September 13, 2006. Husband of the late Elaine (Hannigan) Bernasconi. Devoted father of Janet Larkin of NJ, Stephen J. Bernasconi of PA, Richard J. Bernasconi of Quincy, Ellen Walsh of Needham, Mark Bernasconi of AL, and Joseph J. Bernasconi of Roslindale and the late David Bernasconi. Beloved brother of Silvio Bernasconi of Braintree, Nilda Rice of CA, Jane Wallace of Quincy, Margaret Bernasconi of Dorchester, and the late Mary Barry, Irene McCollum, Victor Bernasconi, and Virginia Wilkie. Cherished Grandfather of 11 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4- 8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Mr. Bernasconi may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society, 1524 VFW Pkwy., Boston, MA 02132. Joe was a WWII veteran in the US Navy. He was a Commander in the Navy and a Naval Aviator who flew in the South Pacific . Joe worked for the New England Telephone company for over 40 years retiring in 1986. He built a summer home in Mashpee and spent over 50 years summering there with family and friends. Joe was a former member of the Parish Council at Sacred Heart Church, active in the Quincy Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Retired Officers Association and the Pioneers Club. Joe was an avid gardener and enjoyed working with his hands. He was truly a “Jack of all Trades”, including building, masonry work, carpentry, and plumbing. Joe was a family man and adored his children and grandchildren.
