Joseph K. Kundzicz of N.Weymouth, passed away at home on December 21, 2022. He was 94 years old.

Joseph was the husband of the late Janet (Topham) Kundzicz. Joseph was also preceded in death by all of his siblings Albert, Henry, Richard and David Kundzicz and Violet Kundzicz Santamaria.

Born at home  in Brockton he was the son of the late Stanislaw and Stefania Kundzicz. Raised in Brockton he was graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1948. Shortly after he graduated high school he enlisted in The United States Marine Corps and served as a Sargent during the Korean War from 1948 until 1952. After his time with the Marines Joe began working for Cazeaults Roofing in 1953, and he remained employed until 1992. His copper work can still be seen all over the south shore.He began a long career with the Weymouth Fire Department in 1955 and retired in 1988 as Deputy Chief. During his illustrious career he had served as Weymouth Fire Marshall and he also ran the Fire Safety Prevention Program for Weymouth Public Schools. Joseph volunteered his time at Medfield State Hospital for over 20 years and he and Ellie volunteered every Thanksgiving at Lombardo’s in Randolph for many years. He was a talented singer and sang with St Jeromes Choir, Massasoit Senior Chorus, the Papal Choir and had performed at many places around the globe. Joe loved to travel and did at every opportunity, but his greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Joe leaves behind his life partner of 33 years Eleanor Morlino of Weymouth.Beloved father of James Kundzicz and his wife Heather of Middleboro, Mark Kundzicz and his wife Michelle of Hull and Jane  Reardon of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather of Kevin, Jocelyn, and Christopher Kundzicz of Middleboro, Timothy Kundzicz and his wife Cassandra of Halifax, Kelsey Kundzicz of TX, Casey Kundzicz of N.C., Derek and Michael Morin, and Danny and Kelly Reardon all of Weymouth. He will Also be missed by Eleanor’s daughters Catherine,Nancy, Mary, and Suzanne. Will be lovingly remembered by many nieces nephews extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday January 2, from 3 – 7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, January 3rd prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
