Joseph K. Granatino

Granatino, Joseph K. “Joe”, 51 of South Weymouth, died Friday December 24, 2010 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Joe was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Hingham. Upon graduating from Northeastern University with a degree in Criminal Justice, he began a career in law enforcement. He first served as a police officer on the Hingham Police Department, before becoming a special agent with the U.S. Treasury Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He is survived by three children, Joseph K. Granatino, II, Kevin Granatino and Nicole Granatino, all of Hingham as well as six siblings: John Granatino of Dallas, Texas, Ann Granatino of Moscow, Russia, Catherine Granatino Gill of Moon, Virginia, James “Mike” Granatino of Fort Myers, Florida, Sarah “Sally” Granatino of Fort Myers, Florida and Jeff Granatino of Scituate. Joe is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 29 from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St.( off Central St.) Hingham. A memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 in St. Paul’s Church, 147 North St. Hingham at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Granatino Children’s Education Fund c/o Citizens Bank, 11 Fearing Road, Hingham, MA 02043.
