Joseph J. Zona

Zona, Joseph J. of Quincy August 11, 2002. Beloved husband of the late Louisa (Merlo) Zona, loving father of Joseph J. Zona, Jr., Nancy L. Zona, both of Quincy and Peter C. Zona of Scituate. Brother of the late Pat, Nancy, Catherine, Frank & Leo. Also survived by 5 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Thursday at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-9 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.Mr. Zona served in the U.S. Marine Corps with the 1st Marine Division at Guadalcanal and also the Black Sheep Squadron. He worked as a hairdresser for more than 25 years at Frank Zona’s in Boston, retiring in the 1970’s. He was a lifelong member of Squantum Yacht Club and a member and Past Commandant of the William Caddy Detachment Marine Corps Post. He was also a member and Past Commandant of Quincy Veteran’s Council. Donations in memory of Mr. Zona may be made to Marine’s Toys for Tots Foundation, P.O. Box 1947, Quantico, VA 22134.
