Tansey, Joseph J. of Winchester, passed away March 23, 2013 leaving behind those he loved.
Joseph was born on January 14, 1930 in Boston and lived in Milton throughout his childhood. He graduated from Milton High School, later attending Wentworth Institute and then graduated from Indiana University. Joe was a First Lieutenant in the Air Force from 1953-1955. He married the love of his life Jacqueline on October 24, 1953. He worked as special account sales manager for Strathmore Paper Co. for many years. Joe was an avid Boston sports fan, especially following football. In his early years he enjoyed playing golf and taking his family skiing. He will be remembered as a “prince of a fellow” and for his kind and gentle heart.
Devoted husband of Jacqueline C. Tansey (Roy). Loving dad of Suzanne M. Young and her husband David of Dunstable and Patrice M. Hoeft and her husband Greg of Weymouth. Caring brother of William Tansey and his wife Doris of Weymouth and the late Eleanor and Manola. Beloved Papa of Connor and Andrew Young and Kyle Hoeft. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relative and friends will gather in the McDonald Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.) at 10:30 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 11:30 AM. Burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton.
