Joseph J. Sullivan, III of N. Weymouth, formerly of Hingham died on March 11th, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Maureen B. (Wyse) Sullivan. Loving father of Patrick Sullivan and his wife Johanna of Wenham, and Kelly (Sullivan) Menice and her husband Ryan, of Norfolk. Cherished grandfather of Stuart and Erich Sullivan, Emerson Menice, and step-granchildren Abigail, William, and Annemarie Menice. Son of the late Joseph J. Sullivan Jr. and Helen (McDonough) Sullivan of Hingham. Devoted brother of Carol (Sullivan) Beale and her husband Jon Beale of Hingham, Michael Sullivan and his wife Crystal of Hingham, and the late Patricia (Sullivan) Porter. Also survived by his brother-in-law David Porter of Falmouth, and his great aunts Mary Sullivan of Hingham and Rose Nolin of Arlington. Joseph was also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends whom he prided himself on helping through some of life’s struggles.
Joseph was born in Boston and grew up in South Boston, Cape Cod, and Hingham. He was a graduate of Boston College High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College. Following a career in the transportation industry, Joseph finished his professional life a real estate broker who thoroughly enjoyed working with people. He volunteered countless hours to an array of Hingham youth sports initiatives and was a beloved coach and mentor to many kids in the town. His greatest pride came from his children and his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 3-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main Street in Hingham at 10 AM.
Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
Donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Plymouth County Children’s Advocacy Center (a cause dear to Maureen’s heart), 10 Chrissy’s Drive, Brockton, MA 02301.
