Carter, Joseph H. of Quincy March 2, 2007. Devoted husband of the late Rachel (Veilleux) Carter. Beloved father of Norman G. Carter of Dorchester, Norma L. Farley of Weymouth, and Kay L. Borek of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph H. Carter may be made to The Jennifer Creed Fund, P.O. Box 469, So. Boston, MA 02127. Joseph came to the United States 65 years ago from Canada and most recently resided in Quincy. Joseph was a logger, a chef and cook at his own restaurant in Jackman, ME prior to coming to Massachusetts. Joseph was a member of the Pile Drivers Union for over 30 years retiring in 1975. He worked as a Carpenter, on such projects as the Callahan Tunnel, the Forest Hills Overpass, Storrow Drive and various other tunnel construction projects around Boston. Joseph was the last of 12 children in his family. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Dorchester Redberry Council # 117. He was always a workaholic but did enjoy gambling and playing the daily numbers.
