Garfagna, Joseph of Hull, retired Hull Firefighter, December 26, 2002. Beloved husband of Angelina (Mercurio) Garfagna. Brother of Phyllis Brackley of Hingham, Angelo Garfagna of Hull, Delphine Callahan of FL and the late Alfred and Americo Garfagna. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews and great grand nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial in Saint Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.Mr. Garfagna worked as a Town of Hull firefighter for 25 years, retiring in 1976. During WWII, he served in the Navy in underwater demolition and ammunitions inspection (at the Hingham Ammunition Depot). He also served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the DAV and the Hull VFW. While at the firehouse, Mr. Garfagna was a favorite cook and he shared his talents with friends and family. His specialty was seafood. A renowned carpenter and mason, he built 3 houses from scratch.
