Mr. Joseph F. “Joe” Johnson, of Weymouth, passed away at the age of 90 surrounded by his loving family on November 3, 2023.
Known to everyone as “one of the nicest and kindest” people you will ever meet, Joe was a Quincy High School graduate who had an exemplary 39-year career with the Telephone Company as an installer / repairman. The consummate family man, Joe enjoyed spending time with his daughters and five grandchildren. He is credited with teaching them, and well over 40 other children, how to ride a two- wheel bike. Joe, an Army Veteran who served his country during the Korean War, enjoyed working in his yard and crafting small woodwork pieces such as bird houses and flag waving Uncle Sams. After his retirement, Joe enjoyed many mornings working out with a special group of friends at the Weymouth Club. He will be fondly remembered as a person who cherished the simple things in life and
would do anything at any time to help another person in need.
Loving husband to Enid (England) Johnson of Weymouth. Cherished father of Maureen Hasenfus and her husband Joe of Attleboro, Karen Ann D’Antonio and her husband Joe of Scituate, RI, and Jennifer McNeil (her late husband Michael
McNeil) and her fiancé Jon Thorn of Quincy. Beloved Papa to Joseph D’Antonio III, Nicholas Hasenfus, Daniel Hasenfus, Olivia D’Antonio, and Zoe McNeil. Caring twin brother to Bill Johnson and his wife Beverly of Weymouth, Ann Gibson of Quincy, the late Eileen Sullivan, and the late Frances McCarthy. Brother-in-law to Bob England and his wife Christine of Weymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).
