Joseph E. “Joe” Woods

 Joseph E. “Joe” Woods of Weymouth, passed away suddenly on December 25, 2016 in his home. He was 72.

Born and raised in Charlestown, Joe was a graduate of Matignon High School, Class of 1961. He retired from Lucent Technologies after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the K of C # 62, Quincy Lodge of Elks, and South Boston Yacht Club. Beloved husband of Ann M. (Walsh). Loving father of Kerry W. Mara and her husband, Chris, of Maynard. Proud Pa to Molly and Patrick Mara. Brother of Ed Woods and his partner, Peg Mansfield of Quincy, Grace Bergin and her husband, Leo, of Wilmington, Danny Woods and his wife, Joanne, of Cambridge, Jimmy Woods and his wife, Joan, of Medford, Eleanor Woods of Charlestown, and Gerard Woods of Winthrop. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
