Joseph E. “Joe” O’Keefe

O’Keefe, Joseph E. “Joe” of Quincy, died January 18, 2015. 

Joe served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked for the Boston Gas Company for over 40 years.  Joe was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing and boating just to name a few.  He was a member of both Savin Hill Yacht Club and Town River Yacht Club for many years.  Joe’s main passion was his family and spending time with those he loved.  He will be sadly missed.

Beloved husband of 60 years of Christine O’Keefe (Rup) of Quincy. Loving father of Susan Valday of Quincy, Joseph O’Keefe and his wife Diana of Braintree, Dennis O’Keefe and his wife Belina of Lowell, Diane Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Pembroke and Kevin O’Keefe of Quincy.  Devoted grandfather or “Big Joe” of 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  Caring brother of Edward O’Keefe and his wife Cathy of NY and the late Joan Chamberlain.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
