Barry, Joseph E. of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester, suddenly, age 72, August 11, 2006. Beloved husband of Ellen (Walsh) Barry. Loving father of Joseph & wife Elizabeth, Patrick & wife MaryAnne, James & wife Lisa, all of Abington, David & wife Paula of Walpole, Robert & wife Jennifer, and Megan & husband James Lynch, all of Braintree. Devoted “Gramps” to 17 grandchildren. Brother of Michael, Betty, Maureen, Kathleen Collins, all of Quincy, Bob of Hanover, Fran of Wareham, Jack of Milton and Richard of Marshfield. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Thomas More Church, Braintree at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 3-8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Joseph worked 36 years as an underground cable installer for Boston Edison, retiring in 1996 and was a member of the Utility Workers Union, Local #369. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958. An avid Red Sox fan, Joseph followed sports of all kinds. He was also a member of the Braintree Recycling Committee. Most importantly, Joseph devoted his life to his wife of 44 years and his family. He will be greatly missed. Donations in memory of Joseph may be made to St. Francis House, 39 Boylston St., Boston, MA 02116-4702.
