Dennehy, Joseph, 93, formerly long term resident of Hingham, born March 11, 1911 was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Cecelia (Wilson) on May 8, 2004. He was survived by his sister Alice Dennehy of Hingham and his Brother Charlie Dennehy of Shrevesport, LA, Daughters Caroline Dennehy of Plymouth, Barbara Williams of Augusta, ME, Connie Ahlsted of Marshfield and Kathy Conary of Stoneham, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was Class Treasurer and graduated Hingham High School in 1928. Throughout his years he and Cecelia loved and nurtured 36 children who had entered the foster care system. He lived his final years in Plymouth in the care and love of his daughter Caroline. He was proud to be an “Irishman,” never missing an opportunity to serenade friends and family with Irish melodies and stories of life’s adventures and his service at home during World War II. He was a lifelong sports fan and avid supporter of the Patriots and Red Sox, a slick cribbage player and loyal friend to his cats Mac, Myer and Joey. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, for he truly was a good man. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.) Hingham on Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at lO AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Carver Animal Shelter, 67 North St. Carver MA 02330.
