Joseph D. Powers

Powers, Joseph D. of Punta Gorda, formerly Roxbury, died September 29, 2022.

Joseph adored his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife Dolly, but was just as happy staying home watching tv on the couch. He worked as an electrician for the Amtrak commuter rail for many years. Joseph was a loving husband, great dad, and devoted Papa who was a great provider to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Son of the late Dr. Joseph Powers and Mary “Bonnie” Powers. Beloved husband of Dorothy “Dolly” Powers of Punta Gorda, formerly Roxbury. Loving father of Cynthia Pinnetti of New Bedford, Joseph Powers and his wife Diana of Cape Coral, FL, and Lisa Knapp and her husband Peter of Kernersville, NC. Cherished Papa of Lauren, Josh, Ian, Nicholas, Kylie, Nathan, and Kortney. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
