Grimaldi, Joseph Anthony “Nono” of Quincy, passed away April 1, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Marie (O’Connell) Grimaldi of Quincy for 35 years. Loving father of Christina “Tina” Grimaldi of Whitman, Joseph Grimaldi and his wife Kim of Quincy, Mike Grimaldi and his wife Ann Marie of Abington and Marc Grimaldi of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Mikala, Darrian, Jenna and Alyssa Grimaldi. Son of the late Vito and Crucifissa (Brignolo) Grimaldi. Brother of Veronica Pierce and her husband Richard of Dedham, Donna Grimaldi Williams of Brookline, Fred Grimaldi of FL and Vito Grimaldi and his wife Sharon of Boston. Son in law of Mary O’Connell and the late Phillip O’Connell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joseph was an Air Force veteran serving in Germany as a Russian linguist. Joseph had a long career in banking and was a retired Vice President at Bank of Boston as well as a software consultant. He also taught History as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University. Joe fully enjoyed many things in life. Most of all, his family, children and grandchildren. He loved travel and vacationing in Florida. He was a lifelong fan of Boston sports teams and was a competitive golfer for many years, as well as being an active member of Weymouth Elks. He had many passions, including playing cards, and reading books; which he shared with family and friends. He loved his garden, often producing beautiful displays of flowers. But above all, Joe reveled in getting family and friends together at his house for Christmas or his annual 4th of July cookout. The role of family patriarch fell naturally to Joe and he would host, lecture, regale, challenge and reminisce with all the generations in his domain. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 11 AM.
