Smith, Joseph Alexander of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, March 21, 2007. Beloved husband of 43 years to Agnes J. (Farquharson) of Quincy. Loving father of Patty Smith of Quincy and Maura and her husband Fred Norton of Hull. Loving brother of Margaret Reardon of Ashland, Charles Smith of Bridgewater, James Smith of Braintree and the late Wilfred, William, Frank and Florence Smith. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Saturday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass in the Chapel of St. Roger & St. Mary, Society for the Latin Mass, 95 Rockland St., W. Roxbury at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury. Joseph’s whole life revolved around his loving family. He provided everything his wife and daughter’s needed. Joseph and Agnes have been married for 43 years. He loved to take care of his house and was very handy with tools. He even built a new deck on his house at the age of 70! He was proud to be a Catholic and attended Mass on a regular basis. When he was a child they belonged to St. Ambrose Parish in Dorchester. He later attended Sacred Heart Church in North Quincy. For the past five years and in some previous years, he has been attending the Chapel of St. Roger and St. Mary, Society of the Latin Mass in West Roxbury. He was intersted in current events, playing his guitar and banjo, college football and the “old time” Red Sox Teams. Joe graduated from English High School in 1938 and received a certificate in Engineering from Northeastern University. He retired from New England Telephone as an engineer with 40 years of service. Mr. Smith is an honorably discharged Army Veteran of WWII serving from 1942 to 1945.
